Poland’s space industry just hit a serious milestone. Creotech Instruments landed a €52 million contract with the European Space Agency to lead the Camila satellite project — and it's not just a win for them. It’s a big step forward for Poland’s entire space sector.
The project will launch three Earth observation satellites by 2027, with half the budget staying in Poland. And ESA’s advance payments mean no need to scramble for funding. That’s a major confidence boost.
Move fast, fix later
What’s cool is how companies like Creotech and Scanway are skipping the old-school aerospace playbook. They’re channeling a SpaceX-style mindset: move fast, learn faster, and fix on the fly. It’s working. Scanway just posted record revenues and built Poland’s largest space telescope — headed for a Moon mission.
Creotech’s also spinning off its quantum tech division to stay focused and manage risk. Smart move. Meanwhile, both companies are gaining traction on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, showing that investors are finally catching on.
This isn’t just about satellites — it’s about security, tech independence, and Poland claiming its seat at Europe’s top space table. The way things are going, they’re not just joining the race. They’re shaping it.
